It is an interesting Breton city with an old centre in which many buildings are preserved. There are plenty of restaurants, a multitude of crêperies and cafés as well as shops supplying various produce in a wide range of consumer needs and wants. The Saint Corentin Cathedral, Musée des Beaux Arts, Breton Museum and various gardens all provide the opportunity for the visitor to appreciate the culture and history of Quimper. If staying in the centre everywhere is within a walkable distance.

Plenty of good food (not only crepes, but a large variety of those.) Worth going beyond just the tourist areas (the Cathedral & the Market) for better value & variety. It is a pretty city to explore with a variety of architectural styles. The area is dotted with other attractive towns and coastal hikes. Beautiful landscape. Quimper is quite central to lots of nice day trips.

Quimper is an interesting place with decent bars and restaurants history and architecture. Great access to Finistere and the coast. The apartment was in Locmaria district a quirky neighbourhood with its own character and nightlife just a 15 minute stroll into the centre where we ate decent French cuisine and also ate well at Mama Thai as the name suggests it was was Thai food but of the highest order

And the location is fantastic, just 50 meters from the cathedral. The free parking Tourbie is just a few hundred meters away, and on the adjacent streets there is a good chance to find parking as well, though it is paid. The photos don't do it justice, it is very beautiful and the decor is superb. I stayed here with my family, and my partner and kids loved it that we ended up extending our stay. We needed a hotel within walking distance to Gare Quimper which was right across the street. We walked down to a pub a couple of blocks down which we enjoyed. We walked to old town Quimper from there.
